Hey everyone!
I've finally decided to get serious about writing a novel I've been dreaming about for years. The problem is, I open a blank Word document and just... freeze. There are too many distractions! I've heard about dedicated writing software, but I'm a broke student and can't afford anything fancy.
I need something super simple to start with—like, really intuitive. I don't need complex formatting or anything yet. I just want a clean, distraction-free space where I can dump all my chaotic thoughts. I've seen FocusWriter and yWriter mentioned. Are these good for a newbie, or is there something even simpler I should try first? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the choices, so any advice from fellow beginners or veterans would be amazing! Thanks a ton!
