When it comes to keeping students engaged in online learning, one strategy that has worked well for me is fostering sense of community. During my time at different universities, found that creating opportunities for students to interact with each other outside of regular coursework can significantly enhance engagement. For instance, setting up virtual study groups or discussion boards where students can share their thoughts and experiences not only helps in understanding the material better but also builds supportive network. This kind of interaction mimics the social aspect of traditional classrooms and can make online learning feel more connected and engaging. Additionally, incorporating group projects or collaborative assignments can encourage active participation and teamwork among students. Working together towards common goal fosters sense of belonging and motivation to contribute meaningfully to the learning process. Have you tried implementing community-building activities in your online courses?. How do you think creating sense of community impacts student engagement?
