How many hours should undeclared students take? My advisor says 15-18 🤔

I met with an advisor at the University Academic Advising Center and she recommended I take *"15-18 hours each fall and spring semester"* with careful consideration of courses required in my "majors of interest" . That seems like a lot! I thought 12-15 was normal.

The advisor explained that they want to make sure I'm enrolling in courses that "satisfy the minimum core requirements for any major the student may later choose" while respecting each department's "right to specify more stringent requirements than the University as a whole" .

She also said students normally remain undeclared for "no more than three semesters" and must declare a major before completing 75 hours .

For other undeclared students: are you taking 15+ hours? Is this normal? I'm worried about workload. 📚
