Need help finding internships in Jackson, MS area

As a student athlete, finding internships in Jackson, MS ain't easy with my crazy practice schedule and travel conflicts. The struggle is real when it comes to balancing academics and eligibility requirements! I've been searching high and low for internships in the Jackson area, but no luck so far.

I need something that fits my competitive and team-oriented personality while accommodating my time-crunched schedule. I've hit a roadblock with failed attempts at solutions because most internships clash with my sports commitments.

Does anyone have tips or know of any sports management internships in Jackson that are flexible for student athletes? How do you manage academic eligibility requirements while pursuing internships? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Let's hustle together towards our goals!

The Jackson sports scene is smaller than Atlanta or Nashville but there ARE opportunities:

1. Jackson State Athletics — they sometimes need student assistants and they understand athlete schedules.
2. Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame — they take interns and it's sports-adjacent with regular hours they might flex.
3. Local high school athletic departments — you could help with game management, stats, etc. They need help evenings anyway which works for athletes.
4. USA Football or similar youth governing bodies — they have remote stuff sometimes.

Also the academic eligibility question: you need to make sure your GPA stays above the requirement (usually 2.0 but depends on your year and conference). Talk to your academic advisor BEFORE taking an internship to make sure the hours won't mess with your study time. My teammate lost eligibility one semester because she overloaded her schedule and her GPA dropped. Not worth it.
