Hello everyone,

As a final-year undergraduate in political science, I’m deeply curious about how the internet shapes political dynamics, particularly the interplay between internet regulations—such as laws targeting "fake news" and broader media oversight—and their implications for free expression. My academic journey has led me to seek graduate programs that explore digital political communication and internet studies through interdisciplinary frameworks, with a focus on institutions in Europe.

So far, I’ve discovered compelling programs at the Oxford Internet Institute, UCL, and the University of Amsterdam, but I’m eager to expand my list. I’d appreciate recommendations for other institutions or departments renowned for robust scholarship in this area. I’m especially concerned about ensuring I’m not overlooked in graduate admissions simply due to a lack of awareness about the strongest programs in this niche.

One challenge I face is distinguishing between general communication or political science programs and those with a specialized focus on digital media, online discourse, or internet governance. It can be difficult to assess which schools have cultivated a clear expertise in these emerging fields. I’d be grateful for guidance on how to identify such programs effectively.

Thanks in advance for your insights!
