I get it, bio majors at Mississippi State have a lot on their plate - props to them for handling all that science stuff! 
I've been through moments of portfolio pressure and creative block myself. It's tough when you're supposed to be all artsy and creative, but your brain just goes blank, right?
And don't even get me started on the whole career prospects thing - it's like a constant rollercoaster of emotions. As for study groups, have you checked out the art department lounge? Sometimes there are chill groups meeting up there to discuss projects or just hang out.
