Is Hinds Community College good for working students?

I work full-time and need a school that understands that. A student review said: “Hinds has flexible scheduling. Evening classes, online options, multiple campuses.” Another said: “Professors are understanding if you communicate. They know students have jobs.” But another review warned: “Advising can be slow. You have to advocate for yourself.” I'm worried about balancing work, school, and life. For current Hinds students, how flexible is the schedule really? Can I build a degree mostly online? What's the workload like for someone working 40 hours?

Okay so here's my honest breakdown as someone who's done both Hinds and a university:

Good stuff:
  • Evening classes (5:30, 6:30, sometimes 7:30)
  • Multiple campuses so you can find something close to work
  • Online options are expanding every semester
  • Professors usually get it if you're late once because of work
Bad stuff:
  • Advising is slow. Like really slow. Email twice.
  • Some online classes still have group projects (nightmare for working students)
  • Registration can be chaotic
Verdict? Yes, good for working students. Just stay organized. You've got this, Luke. 📚
