I've been trying to stay diligent and polite while adapting to this new environment, but man, it's tough. imo i've taken accounting principles, finance fundamentals, and marketing basics - talk about a workload! any tips or experiences from my fellow students on how to juggle classes and a job without losing my mind?
would love to hear some mississippi state-specific advice!
For real though, I'm a senior who's worked 25hrs/week all through college. Here's my survival guide:
Batch your classes. Try to get them all on Tues/Thurs or Mon/Wed/Fri. Having full free days for work is a game changer.
Use your breaks. That hour between classes? Not TikTok time. That's reading time. You'll thank yourself later.
One day off. Pick one day a week with NO work and NO school. Just exist. Prevents burnout.
For Mississippi State specifically: Starkville has tons of restaurant jobs that work around class schedules. Also check Handshake for on-campus jobs—they're legally required to work around your academics.
