I need emergency advice. My 10-page history essay on the economic policies of the 1800s was due yesterday. I had two weeks to do it. TWO WEEKS. ☕

What did I do instead?
  1. Learned the entire choreography to a 20-second TikTok dance. 💃
  2. Re-organized my entire bookshelf by color (aesthetic > function, obviously).
  3. Went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole about the history of the color blue. 🎨
  4. Started the essay about three times, only to delete everything because the intro wasn't "perfect."
Now it's 2 AM. The adrenaline is finally kicking in, but my brain feels like a browser with 50 tabs open... all playing different YouTube videos. I have the focus now, but I'm frozen. I'm currently on the second paragraph and I'm panicking about the word count. I know I need a strong thesis, but honestly, my thesis right now is "Please just let me pass." 🥲

Does anyone have a last-minute, super-specific, panic-mode strategy to just... get words on the page? Like, do I start with the conclusion? Do I just vomit words and pray? My usual method of "vibe and cry" isn't working tonight. 😭 I also keep getting distracted by my phone. I literally put it in the freezer once and still thought about it for an hour.

Hyperfixation is a blessing and a curse. I once spent 8 hours learning to juggle instead of writing a psych paper. The juggling? Perfect. The paper? Not so much. Here's my emergency advice: dictate into your phone. Just talk it out. The words come easier when you're not staring at a blinking cursor. Then transcribe later. The voice notes app has saved my GPA more than once.
