Here's the deal - struggling to navigate transfer credits, uni life adjustments, and financial aid. Anyone else feel me on this? Specifically, I'm lost in the maze of student loan options here at MSU.

Here's the breakdown:

1. FAFSA first—MSU's school code is 002423 (I think? double check on their site). The 2026-27 FAFSA is open NOW .
2. Federal loans—Subsidized (need-based, interest paid while in school) and Unsubsidized (interest accrues immediately). Max depends on year-standing.
3. Scholarships—Check the Bagley College of Engineering scholarships! There's one specifically for civil engineering students from certain MS counties .
4. Private loans—only after maxing federal options, rates vary wildly.
