Hey y'all (trying to get in the spirit
). I'm a high school senior from Illinois, and I'm seriously considering two schools in Mississippi: Ole Miss and Mississippi State. I've done the virtual tours, I've read the websites, but I need the real, unfiltered student perspective.
I'm planning to major in business (maybe marketing), and both schools seem to have good programs. But I want to know about the vibes. What's the actual difference in student life?
From what I can gather online:
Also, how bad are the summers really? I've heard horror stories about the humidity.
Any advice, pros/cons, or just general vibes would be super helpful. I need to make a decision in the next few months!

From what I can gather online:
- Ole Miss (Oxford): Seems like the "classic" southern college experience. Beautiful campus, strong Greek life, football is a huge deal. Oxford looks like a really cool town. But I'm a little intimidated by the Greek scene—is it possible to have a social life without rushing?
- Mississippi State (Starkville): Seems more STEM/ag focused, but I've heard the business school is solid. People say it's more "down to earth" and friendly. Is Starkville more of a college town than Oxford, or just smaller?
