I spent an evening reading student reviews on Niche to figure out if Delta State is right for me. Here's the real picture.

The good: The professors are the highlight. Multiple reviews mention that faculty “know your name” and “genuinely care” about student success. The class sizes are small – one student said their largest class was “maybe 25 people” . If you want personal attention, DSU delivers. The campus itself is described as “beautiful” and “quiet” , with a lot of green space.

The bad: The biggest complaint is the location. Cleveland is a small town, and multiple students say there's “nothing to do on weekends” . One review said: “If you don't have a car, you'll feel trapped” . Another warned that “off-campus housing is limited and not always safe” .

The mixed: Academics depend on the department. Nursing students praised the clinical prep but noted long commutes . Education majors said the program is “solid” but wished for more classroom observation opportunities . One business student said the program is “fine but not competitive” .

My take: Delta State is a good choice if you want small classes and personal attention, but you need to be okay with a quiet campus and be proactive about your own social life and career prep. For other students considering DSU, what's been your experience? 🤔
